Men's Varsity Rolls Past Trine

The Men's NCAA team took to the road this weekend to face off once again against Trine University after their series against Concordia WI was cancelled.


Grant Baetson got the Bulldogs on the board less than ten minutes into the competition with assists from Trevor Coykendall and Ryan Butler. The Thunder would match the 1 goal score before the period's end and the two teams would head to the second frame deadlocked at 1 a piece.


Connor May would notch a powerplay goal at the 6:01 mark of the second frame to give the Dawgs the lead once again. Sam Ruffin and Andrew Bellant would assist. Rex Moe would add to the score three and a half minutes later with assists from Alessio Luciani and Jaden Shields. Ruffin would grab a goal of his own at the 15:38 mark of the second to give the visiting Bulldogs a 4-1 lead heading into the third.


Butler would grab his first collegiate goal at the 2:20 mark of the third period to round out the scoring for the contest. Baetson and Shields would assist.


Nic Tallarico would pick up the win in net, making 18 saves on 19 shots against.


As of tonight, the Bulldogs are set to square off against Bowling Green State University (NCAA DI) on Friday, November 13th on the road in Ohio before coming back home to Arrington Ice Arena on Saturday night to face Trine once again.
