MD2 Picks Up Pair of Wins Versus Indiana Tech




The MD2 team took one the Warriors of Indiana Tech in a home-at-home series. The two teams would square off in game 1 at Arrington Ice Arena on Saturday afternoon.


Ryan Hoover would break the ice in the D2 Dawgs final home game of the semester, netting his eleventh of the season 47 seconds into the first. Hoover's goal would come unassisted. Willie McGuire's third of the year would make things 2-0 Dawgs five minutes later with assists going to Devine Whitaker and Colin O'Rourke. Jake Amaliftano would give Dawgs a 3-0 lead with 10:18 gone in the first. Ondrej Benda and McGuire would assist. The Warriors would cut the lead to 3-1 before the end of the first but the Bulldogs would take the lead into the second period of play.


Zach Skinner's second of the season and first on home ice would come at the 10:53 mark of the second period off of an unassisted effort. Cole Weber would round out the scoring for both teams for the evening at the 13:22 mark of the second period. Quinn Proctor and Steven Ferraro would assist on Weber's tally.


Christian Vail would pick up the win in net for the Bulldogs as they came away with a 5-1 win in their final home game of 2021.


The Bulldogs would travel to Fort Wayne the following evening to close out the series with the Warriors.

The two teams would go scoreless for the first twenty minutes of play before the Warriors would gain their first lead of the weekend. Brenden Gingras would tie things up for the Bulldogs on the powerplay with 3:19 gone in the second. Justin Session and Mitch Kellerman would assist. Gingras would net another powerplay goal eight minutes later for a 2-1 lead. Matyas Mach and Session would assist.


Kellerman would grab a goal of his own as the lone goal of the third period on an empty net. Kellerman's goal would come unassisted.


Steven Prati would grab the win in between the pipes for the Bulldogs in game two of the weekend.

The D2 Dawgs travel to Sault Ste. Marie for a two game series on December 3rd and 4th to close out the first semester of play. They return home in January against the Indiana Tech Warriors on Sunday, January 16th.
