MD2 Picks Up Pair of Wins Against Trine




The MD2 took on Trine University this weekend in a home at home series.


The Bulldogs first travelled to Angola, Indiana to face the Thunder on the road on Friday night.


Devin Whitaker would make things 1-0 halfway through the first period. Ryan Hoover and Steven Cope would assist. Dominick Yamarino's seventh of the season would give the Bulldogs a 2-0 lead with only twenty-six seconds left in the first. Justin Session and Logan Eggleston would assist.


The Thunder would cut the lead in half at the 3:49 mark of the second but Steven Cope would put the Bulldogs up by two once again ten minutes later. Cole Weber would assist on Cope's goal.

The Thunder would tally the lone goal of the third but the Bulldogs would come out on top by a score of 3-2 with Steven Prati picking up the win in net.


The Thunder would strike first on Sunday evening, scoring at the 1:28 mark of the second period.


Willia McGuire would net the equalizer with 5:36 gone in the third with the lone assist going to Mitch Kellerman.


Matyas Mach would be the overtime hero, netting the game winning goal with 1:25 gone in the extra frame. Joey Finfer would grab the assist.


The Bulldogs would take game two of four by a score of 2-1 with Danny Fielding picking up the win in net.


The MD2 team takes on the Thunder next Friday night on the road before coming back to Arrington Ice Arena on Sunday at 1.
