MD1 Skates Past Aquinas For the Third Time This Season
The MD1 team took on the Aquinas College Saints this Thursday night at Arrington Ice Arena in their third matchup of the year.
Sheldon Nolan's first goal of the year would kick things off for the Bulldogs at the 2:22 mark of the first period. Dylan Kent and Sam Spaedt would assist.
Chris Donaldson would give the Bulldogs a 2-0 lead 4:11 into the second. Austin Kuhn would collect the lone assist. Tyler Fyfe would notch his eighth of the season with 7:55 gone in the middle frame, scoring on a breakaway to give the Dawgs a more comfortable 3-0 lead. The Saints would score 4 on 4 before the end of the second but the Dawgs would head into the third with a 3-1 lead.
Matteo DiGiulio would net his team leading ninth goal of the season and his sixth powerplay goal of the year at the 15:36 mark of the penalty ridden third period. Jordan Oshowy and Brenden Stanko would assist.
Mike Barrett would come away with the win between the pipes as the Bulldogs once again topped the Saints 4-1.
The Dawgs travel to Grand Rapids on Saturday to take on Davenport University on the road before retuning home for a two game series against Jamestown on Thursday and Friday nights.
