MD1 Completes Sweep of Jamestown




The MD1 team took on the Jamestown Jimmies on Friday night for the second game of their two game weekend series.


Chris Donaldson got things started only 5:02 into the first frame. Donaldson's goal would be assisted by Sheldon Nolan. Connor Smith would add his eighth of the year four minutes later to extend the lead to 2-0. Austin Kuhn would pick up the lone assist. The Jimmies would cut the Bulldog lead in half before the end of the first but the Bulldogs took a 2-1 lead going into the second period.


Tyler Fyfe would send home his team leading twelfth goal of the year on the powerplay, sending home a rebound only 1:19 into the second. Fyfe's goal would com unassisted. Brenden Stanko would tally his second of the weekend 4:32 into the second with the assist going to Nash Hatcher. The Jimmies would add a powerplay goal at the 8:15 mark of the second but Hatcher would answer back forty seconds later with his third of the season and first on home ice. Luke Burke would assist on Hatcher's tally. Donaldson would net his second of the game with 16:02 gone in the second to make things 6-2 Bulldogs. Fyfe would snag the lone assist.


The Jimmies would score the only goal of the third period but the Bulldogs would be victorious, skating away with a 6-3 win.


Mike Barrett would pick up the win between the pipes as the Bulldogs skated away with their thirty-sixth straight victory on home ice, a streak that dates back to the 2018-19 season.


The Bulldogs take the ice against Davenport on Thursday night when they honor the Class of 2021 in the second to last home game of the year. Puck drops at 7:00 pm.
