#9 MD2 Splits With BGSU

The MD2 team took on the Bowling Green State University Falcons this past weekend in a home at home series.

The Bulldogs first travelled to Ohio on Friday evening to take on the Falcons on the road in what would end up being a back and forth game against BGSU.

The Bulldogs took the first lead of the game going into the second period with a 1-0 score. They Dawgs would add a pair of goals but the Falcons would add three to tie things up heading into the final frame.

A back and forth third period would see four shorthanded goals against the Bulldogs and a 6-7 final in favor of the home team, despite a last minute goal from the Bulldogs.

The two teams took the ice at Arrington Ice Arena on Sunday afternoon for the final game of their series.

Devin Whitaker would make things 1-0 less than a minute into the game Sunday afternoon. Grant Kiepper would grab the lone assist. Mitch Kellerman would add to the lead and Steven Cope would make it 3-0 before the end. Kellerman's goal would be assisted by Zach McDonough and Cope's goal would be unassisted. The Falcons would get one past the Bulldogs before the end of the first and the score would be 3-1 after one.

Will Nicholson would give the Bulldogs a three goal lead once again in the second period. Joey Finfer would assist on Nicholson's goal. The Falcons would grab one more as well in the second and it would be 4-2 in favor of the Bulldogs after two periods.

The Falcons would pull within one but the Bulldogs would hold off Bowling Green to skate away with a 4-3 win.
