Men's Varsity Edges St. Norbert in Harris Cup Thriller
The Men's Varsity team hosted the St. Norbert College Green Knights at Arrington Ice Arena as the two teams squared off for the sixth straight season to play for the Harris Cup.
The two national powerhouse teams would be scoreless through the first period of play. Joey Colatarci would break the ice with a powerplay goal at the 4:16 mark of the middle frame. Dino Balsamo and Matt McNair would assist. Rex Moe would add his third of the playoffs at the 10:39 mark to make things 2-0 in favor of the Bulldogs. Alessio Luciani and Grant Baetsen would assist.
The Green Knights would score two quick goals in a 17 second span to tie things up with 7:00 gone in the final frame. Moe's second of the game would be the eventual game winner at the 7;12 mark of the third period with the lone assist going to Joshua Owings.
Final score would be 3-2 in favor of the Bulldogs to give the home team their first Harris Cup victory since 2016 and an automatic bid into the NCAA tournament.
