MD1 Finishes Semester 20-0, Barrett Picks up 65th Win in Sweep of Dearborn
The #1 MD1 team took on the #3 University of Michigan-Dearborn Wolverines on the road on Friday evening in Dearborn, Michigan.
Brenden Stanko would net his third of the series early on in the first period to give the Bulldogs the 1-0 lead. Mike Finger and Connor Smith would assist.
The Bulldogs would hold the 1-0 lead until late in the third when Smith would net a goal of his own to give the Bulldogs a little room to breathe with a 2-0 lead. Finger and Stanko would assist.
Final score in Dearborn Friday night would be 2-0 in favor of the #1 ranked Bulldogs with Mike Barrett picking up the shutout.
With the win, Barrett picks up his 65th career win between the pipes, tying former MD1 Bulldog Matt Anderson's record for wins by an MD1 goaltender at Adrian.
The MD1 team finishes the first semester with a perfect 20-0 record for the first time in program history as they go into Christmas break.
The Bulldogs return home for the new year on January 16th against the Oakland University Golden Grizzlies.
