12 Players Record a Point, Fyfe Nets Hat Trick as MD1 Completes Sweep of Lakers
The MD1 team took on Mercyhurst University for the second game of the two game home series against the Lakers.
The Lakers would score their first and only goal of the weekend at the 4:19 mark of the first period. Marcel Kottek would answer back less than a minute later with his third goal in the past three games. Rainer Glimpel and Manny Silverio assisted on Kottek's goal. Tyler Fyfe would make things 3-1 Dawgs at the 7:03 mark of the first period with assists from Austin Kuhn and Mark Fratarcangeli. After one, the Bulldogs would hold a 3-1 lead. '
Kuhn would net a goal of his own at the 7:01 mark of the second period to kick off the scoring in the middle frame. Fratarcangeli would add the lone assist. Dominic Moore would add his fourth goal of the season less than two minutes later off of an assist from Brenden Stanko. Connor Smith would send home his team leading seventh goal of the season at the 17:06 mark of the second on an unassisted effort. After two, the Bulldogs held a 6-1 lead over their opponents.
Kyle Perkowski would net his second of the series at the 5:39 mark of the third period with the lone assist going to Moore. Fyfe would net his second of the night with 7:25 gone in the third with assists coming from Fratarcangeli and Mason Vaughan. Fyfe would complete his first career hat trick on the powerplay with 54 seconds left in the game off of an assist from Chris Donaldson.
Final score Friday night in Adrian would be 8-1 in favor of the home team with Mike Barrett turning away 16 of 17 shots faced.
The Bulldogs return to action at Arrington Ice Arena this Friday night, October 18th, as they take on the University of Delaware.
