MD2 Picks Up Big Win Thursday Night at Trine
Fresh off of an upset of #1 ranked Aquinas College Sunday afternoon, the MD2 team took to the road for their lone game of the weekend Thursday night, heading to Angola, Indiana to take on rival Trine in their third matchup of the season. The Bulldogs came away with a 7-2 win the first meeting of the season while the Thunder took game two by a score of 4-2.
Adrien Sebag of the Bulldogs got things started Thursday night, netting his 11th of the year at the 13:01 mark of the first period. Phil Pugliese and Jack Clary would assist.
Dalton Anderson would extend the Bulldog lead to 2-0 with his fourth goal in two games at the 6:27 mark of the second. Stefan Boskovic and Hayden Winch would grab assists. Pugliese's first of the night would come a minute later off of an assist from Sebag. The Thunder would score their first goal of the game at the 17:51 mark of the second period and the two teams would head into the final twenty minutes of play with a 3-1 lead for the visiting Bulldogs.
The Thunder would pull within one 9:55 into the final period of play, but Pugliese would add a shorthanded goal to regain the two goal lead at the 12:05 mark of the third with an unassisted effort. Pugliese would score on the empty net with 37 seconds remaining to complete his first hat trick as a Bulldog and seal the deal for the visiting Bulldogs.
Final score Friday night in Indiana would be 5-2 in favor of the Bulldogs with Trevor Kalinowski picking up the win in net. The Bulldogs return home for one final home game of the 2018-19 season on February 21st when they take on the Thunder for senior night at 7:00 pm.
