MD1 Downs Utah 11-1


The MD1 team took on the University of Utah Utes on Thursday night at Arrington Ice Arena for the first time in either of the programs' histories.

Mike Finger kicked things off with a goal 45 seconds into the first frame with assists from Brenden Stanko and Joe Costello. The Utes would tie things up on the 5 on 3 powerplay at the 13:29 mark. Dante Raposo would net the tie breaker with 33 seconds remaining in the first off of a shot from the point assisted by Mark Fratarcangeli and Tyler Fyfe. After two, the Bulldogs held a 2-1 lead.

Rainer Glimpel would score the first of 6 second period goals for the Bulldogs at the 7:11 mark of the middle frame. Dominic Moore and Chris Donaldson would assist. Manny Silverio would net his first as a Bulldog at the 14:30 mark with assists from Donaldson and Glimpel. Costello would score 24 seconds later with assists from Finger and Jordan Oshowy. Finger would score his second of the night at the 16:25 mark from Justin Fisher and Dan Stone while Silverio would grab his second goal at 18:14 from Michael Tratar and Austin Kuhn. Finger would complete his hat trick 30 seconds later with assists from Stanko and Costello once again. After two, the Bulldogs lead 8-1.

Finger grabbed his fourth of the game at the 7:30 mark of the third period to put the Bulldogs up by a commanding score of 9-1 midway through the third. Costello and Stanko would assist once again. Austin Azzinarro would grab his first of the season at the 16:14 mark assisted by Glimpel and Moore. Fratarcangeli would net one last goal for the Bulldogs with 14 seconds remaining off of assists from Glimpel and Moore to close out the scoring for the Bulldogs.

Final score Thursday night would be 11-1 in favor of the Bulldogs with Greg Maggio picking up the win in net.

The Bulldogs travel to Syracuse, New York for a two game series with the Orange next weekend before coming back to Adrian to take on GLCHL foe Eastern Michigan on November 15th.
