MD1 Downs Indiana Tech in Pre-Nationals Tune-Up
The MD1 team took on the Indiana Tech Warriors in a pre-nationals tune-up game this evening at Arrington Ice Arena.
Jordan Oshowy drew first blood, netting the first of the game at the 14:09 mark of the first period. Michael Tratar and Josh Hosking would grab assists. Cooper McLean would net another with 18 seconds remaining in the first period. Mark Fratarcangeli and Tratar would grab assists. After one, the Bulldogs held a 2-0 lead.
Rainer Glimpel netted the third goal of the game at the 5:42 mark of the second period with assists going to Marcus Rose and Archie McKinnon. The Warriors would pull within two four minutes later. After two, the Bulldogs were up 3-1.
Joe Costello would find himself alone in the slot, sending home a backhand top shelf goal to give the Bulldogs a three goal lead once again. The Warriors would net their second of the game at the 7:17 mark of the third period. Justin Fisher would net the final goal of the game at the 8;23 mark of the third and final frame with assists from Kyle Perkowski and Marcel Kottek.
Final score would be 5-2 Bulldogs with Mike Barrett picking up the win, playing 40:00 and stopping 21 of 23 shots will Austyn Roudebush would play 20:00 and be 9 for 9 on the night.
The Bulldogs now await the winner of Pittsburgh vs. Stony Brook for their first game of the National Tournament on March 9th.
