Men's Varsity Downs Concordia for 13th Straight Win
The Men's NCAA team took on the Falcons of Concordia University Wisconsin Saturday afternoon for senior night at Arrington Ice Arena.
Matt McNair's second goal of the season would give the Bulldogs the first lead of the game at the 6:47 mark of the first period. Bryan Yim and Blake Butzow would pick up assists. Ryan Cusin would give the Bulldogs the 2-0 lead 8 minutes later with assists from Dino Balsamo and Dean Hewines. The Falcons would cut the lead in half less than a minute later, but the Bulldogs would hold the 2-1 lead going into the second period.
Cusin's second of the night would be all for the second period scoring. Balsamo and Braden Hellems would assist on the powerplay goal.
Cusin would complete the hat trick at the 8:18 mark of the third period for the final goal of the game with assists from Balsamo and Trevor Boyd. Final score would be 4-1 in favor of the Bulldogs.
Senior Dillon Kelley picked up his 16th career win on Senior Day for the Bulldogs' 13th straight victory for the country's longest winning streak.
The Bulldogs host the Milwaukee School of Engineering Raiders next weekend for the NCHA Harris Cup Quarterfinals. Puck drop Friday night is set for 7:05 pm.
