MD1 Scores 8 Unanswered Goals to Soar Past Eagles

The MD1 team took on the Eastern Michigan University Eagles on the road this evening in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
The Eagles would strike first this time, netting a powerplay goal in the first half of the first period. The Bulldogs would tie things up at 1 five minutes later off of a goal from Dominic Moore. Chris Donaldson and Josh Hosking would add assists on Moore's goal. Donaldson would snag a goal of his own with less than two minutes remaining in the first to give the Bulldogs their first lead of the night. Jordan Oshowy and Kyle Perkowski would add assists. Mike Finger would score a minute later to give the Bulldogs a 3-1 lead going into the first intermission. Brad Kobryn and Joe Costello would assist on Finger's goal.
Perkowski would nab the lone goal of the second period of play with assists from Donaldson and Austin Azzinnaro. After two, the Bulldogs would hold a 4-1 lead.
The Bulldogs would come out in the third with four goals in the final frame of the chippy game. Costello would net the first of the period at the 1:35 mark of the third period. Kobryn and Oshowy would assist. Costello would bury his second of the game 8 minutes later with assists to Kobryn and JP Grineau. Donaldson would add his second of the night at the 17:37 mark of the third period in his fourth straight two goal game of the season. Cooper McLean would score with fewer than two minutes remaining in the game to put the Bulldogs up 8-1 over the Eagles with the lone assist going to Oshowy.
Austyn Roudebush would pick up his 16th win of the season, stopping 22 of the 23 shots he faced against Eastern Michigan.
The Bulldogs have one remaining GLCHL series remaining this weekend against the Calvin College Knights. The Bulldogs and Knights face off on Thursday night for senior night at Arrington Ice Arena at 7:15 pm. The Bulldogs will travel to Grand Rapids Friday night to face off against the Knights once again before heading out to Pennsylvania to take on the Mercyhurst Lakers on February 17th and 18th.
