WACHA Tramples Davenport

WACHA took on Davenport University Sunday afternoon at Arrington Ice Arena for their first contest of 2018.

The Panthers would get on the board first, scoring on a breakaway at the 2:31 mark of the first period. Brittany Levasseur would even things up at 1 8 minutes later with assists from Nicole Paradis and Kyleen Wilson. Jessie Rushing would make things 2-1 for a Bulldog lead at the 16:50 mark of the first with assists from Jess Harrison and Olivia Ziemba. After one, the Bulldogs would lead 2-1.

Ziemba would send one home to kick off the second period for the Bulldogs. Rushing and Danica Polson would assist. Hardy would grab a goal of her own 31 seconds later to make things 4-1 with Paradis and Levasseur picking up assists. Taylor Murcek would score her first of the afternoon at the 6:08 mark of the second frame from Sam Fortune. Rushing would notch her second of the game at the 8:10 mark of the second with the lone assist being awarded to Olivia Pollari. After two, the Bulldogs held a commanding 6-1 lead over the Panthers.

The Bulldogs would score an astounding 7 goals in the third and final frame to finish off the Panthers. 3 of those third period goals would come from Levasseur. Paradis and Hardy would assist on two of the three while the other would be unassisted. Hardy would also grab her second of the game in the third with assists to Paradis and Rushing. Kirstin LaBelle would grab the first goal of the third frame with the lone assist going to goaltender Alison Dungey. Wilson would snag luck #10 with assists from Polson and Ziemba while Alexa Wycynski would score #11 from LaBelle and Pollari.

Alison Dungey picked up the win in net for the Bulldogs for her 8th win of the season for the Bulldogs.

WACHA in back in action Friday, January 19th as they take on Robert Morris (Ill) in a two game homestand. Puck drop Friday will be 3:00 while Saturday's game is slated for 7:00.
