MD1 Sweeps Syracuse

The MD1 team was back in action at Arrington Ice Arena Saturday and Sunday this weekend for the first time in 2018.

The Bulldogs would be on the losing end of a 2-0 score in the second period before Dominic Moore broke the ice at the 3:22 mark of the second period. Marcus Rose and Marcel Kottek would add assists on Moore's back door goal. Rose would tie things up for the Bulldogs 10 minutes later off of a pass from Brad Kobryn while on the powerplay once again. After two, your Bulldogs were all tied up at 2.

Joe Costello would give the Bulldogs their first lead of the night 1:10 into the final frame of play. Kobryn and Mike Finger would assist on Costello's goal. Syracuse would tie things up once again 3 minutes later. Costello's second of the night would end up the game winner at the 14:48 mark of the third period on the powerplay. Kyle Perkowski and Chris Donaldson would assist on Costello's second goal. Justin Fisher would add an empty net goal with less than a minute remaining for a final score of 5-3 in favor of the Bulldogs. Mark Fratarcangeli and Cooper McLean would assist on the empty netter.

Austyn Roudebush would pick up the win to stay perfect on the season for a record of 11-0.

The Bulldogs would come out flying on Sunday afternoon with Austin Kuhn burying the first goal of the game at the 9:54 mark of the first period. Archie McKinnon and Mark Fratarcangeli would add assists. Josh Hosking's third of the season would come on the powerplay at the 19:21 mark of the first. Assists would go to Jordan Oshowy and Chris Donaldson. After one, the Bulldogs held a 2-0 lead over the Orange.

Marcus Rose would extend the Bulldog lead 3:02 into the second period of play. Dominic Moore and JP Grineau would be awarded assists on Rose's goal.Rose's goal would be the end of the Syracuse starting netminder as the Bulldogs scored 3 goals on 7 shots. Kyle Perkowski would welcome the second goalie to the game by scoring on the Bulldogs' first shot. Kuhn and Fratarcangeli would assist. Joe Costello's third in two games would make the Bulldogs 2 for 2 on shots on the new net minder at the 6:31 mark of the second period. Brad Kobryn and Mike Finger would add assists on the tic tac toe play. Fratarcangeli would score back to back goals only 3 minutes apart to make the score 7-0 in the second period. Syracuse would break the ice to get on the board during the second but the Bulldogs would still head to the third with a commanding 7-1 lead. Kuhn and Cooper McLean would add assists to Fratarcangeli's first goal while Moore and Justin Fisher would assist on the second.

McLean would score a goal of his own at the 6:37 mark of the final frame with Kuhn and Fratarcangeli grabbing assists. Kobryn would tally his 23rd of the season at the 10:14 mark from Rose and Costello on the powerplay. Fratarcangeli would complete the hat trick 4 minutes later with assists to Kottek and Hosking. Rose would round out the scoring for the Bulldogs with his second of the night to make things 11-1 at Arrington Ice Arena. Kottek and McLean would add assists to the final goal scored by Rose. Austyn Roudebush would once again pick up the win to stay perfect in his senior season with a record of 12-0 .

The Bulldogs return to action this Thursday night as they face Davenport University for Rivalry Night at 7:15 pm.
