WACHA Outscores Aquinas 27-1 Over Weekend

The #2 ranked WACHA Bulldogs took on the Aquinas Saints in their final series of the semester this past weekend.

The Bulldogs traveled to Grand Rapids Friday night for the first game of the series.

Danica Polson started things off for the Bulldogs at the 2:26 mark of the first period. Courtney Hoke and Tara Wreblis would grab assists on Polson's goal. Nicole Paradis would snag a goal of her own two minutes later off of an assist from Kaillie Hardy. Hardy would tally one of her own at the 11:23 mark of the first with the assists going to Paradis and Britt Levasseur. Levasseur would strike less than 20 seconds later with her first of the night assisted by Paradis. Jessie Rushing would close out the scoring for the first period with a goal at the 12:58 mark with the lone assist going to Polson. After twenty minutes, your Bulldogs would have a 5-0 lead.

Levassuer's second of the night would come at the 11:18 mark of the second. Paradis and Hardy would pick up the assists. Sam Fortune would snag the second goal of the period at the 14:48 mark of the middle frame with the lone assist going to Taylor Murcek. Murcek's own goal would close out the scoring for the second period at the 15:23 mark with assists going to Paradis and Levassuer. After two, your Bulldogs had a commanding 8-0 lead.

Rushing's second of the game would come unassisted less than a minute into the final frame. Levassuer would complete the hat trick four minutes later for her second career hat trick. Levassuer's goal was also unassisted. Murcek's second of the night would come at the 10:16 mark of the final frame, Meagan Coleman would have the lone assist on Murcek's second. Polson would snag her second of the night two minutes later with the lone assist going to Olivia Ziemba. The Saints would sneak one past Kalysta Coulter at the 13:12 mark of the third, spoiling her shutout. An unassisted goal from Jess Harrison would make it 13 goals for the Bulldogs and end the scoring for the game.

Final score Friday night would be 13-1 in favor of the Bulldogs with Kalysta Coulter picking up the win.

Lauren Hughes broke the ice at the 7:39 mark of the first period Saturday night at Arrington Ice Arena. Alexa Wycynski and Brooklynn Moore would tally assists. Taylor Murcek would add her third of the weekend two minutes later off of an assist froom Sam Fortune. Maddy Arnold's first of the weekend would come three minutes later with an assist going to Fortune. Ziemba would grab her first of the weekend at the 17:17 mark of the first on an unassisted effort. Olivia Pollari's first of the weekend would close out the scoring in the first frame at the 19:58 mark. Wycynski would pick up the lone assist. After one, your Bulldogs had a 5-0 lead.

Britt Levasseur's fourth of the weekend came at the 3:15 mark of the second period with assists going to Nicol Paradis and Kaillie Hardy. Paradis would grab one of her own at the 11:02 mark assisted by Hardy at the 11:02 mark. Jess Harrison's second of the weekend would close things out for the second period of play with the lone assist going to Maddy Arnold. Score after two at Arrington Ice Arena would be 8-0.

Wycynski would grab the first of five third period goals at the 1:35 mark of the third period. Coleman would be awarded the lone assist. Harrison's second of the night would come 2 minutes later with assists going to Rushing and Polson. Rushing's own goal would make it 11-0 Bulldogs at the 7:31 mark of the final frame off of an assist from Harrison. Levasseur would score two consecutive goals to complete her second hat trick of the weekend. Hardy would assist on Levasseur's second of the night and Paradis and Hughes would assist on the third. Paradis would add one of her own with 32 seconds remaining in the game to put the Dawgs up 14-0 as the final buzzer sounded.

The Bulldogs would once again come out with the win by a score of 14-0 with Dana Colombo picking up the shutout win.

The Bulldogs are back at home on January 14th when they host the Davenport Panthers.
