WACHA Sweeps Miami of Ohio

#2 WACHA took on #5 Miami of Ohio this weekend in a two game series at Arrington Ice Arena.

WACHA struck first on Friday night as Kirstin LaBelle lit the lamp for the Bulldogs at the 4:48 mark of the first period. Courtney Hoke would tally the lone assist on LaBelle's goal. After one, the Bulldogs had a 1-0 lead over the defending National Champions.

Brittany Levasseur would make it a 2-0 game at the 2:22 mark of the 2nd period. Tara Wreblis and Kaillie Hardy would pick up assists on Levasseur's tally. Nicole Paradis would add one of her own at the 8:11 mark of the second period with assists going to Sam Fortune and Levasseur. Danica Polson would give the Bulldogs a 4 goal lead less than a minute later with the lone assist being awarded to Meagan Coleman. Olivia Polari would add another at the 11:30 mark of the second period with assists going to Hoke and Wreblis. Both Paradis and Polson would add their second goals of the night before the end of the second period. Coleman would once again assist on Polson's goal while Hardy grabbed the lone assist on Paradis' goal. After two, your Bulldogs were beating the Redhaws 7-0.

Hardy would bury one of her own in the third to close out the scoring for game #1. Alison Dungey would pick up the shutout, stopping all 28 shots that she faced Friday night.

The two teams met once again on Saturday afternoon at Arrington Ice Arena.

The Bulldogs struck first once again as LaBelle netted her second in two games at the 7:20 mark of the first period off of an assist from Olivia Ziemba. Kaillie Hardy would also grab her second in two games during the first with assists going to Nicole Paradis and Taylor Murcek. Brittany Levasseur would add a pair of goals before the end of the period with Olivia Pollari grabbing the assist on the first and Hardy and Tara Wreblis grabbing the helpers on the second goal. After one, your Bulldogs had a 4-0 lead.

Hardy's second of the night was the lone goal of the second period. Murcek and Jess Harrison would be awarded assists on Hardy's second of the game.

The Redhawks would net their first goal of the series in the third period but WACHA would answer with a goal from Nicole Paradis to end the game. Hardy and Murcek would grab the assists on the final goal. F

Final score on Saturday afternoon would be 6-1 in favor of the Bulldogs with Alison Dungey picking up the win once again.

The Bulldogs are back in action at Arrington Ice Arena this Friday at 3:00 pm against the Liberty University Flames.
