Bulldogs Score 11 Unaswered Goals, Top Rochester Warriors
The Adrian MD1 team took on GLCHL rivals the Rochester Warriors last night at Arrington Ice Arena for the lone Thursday night matchup.
Brad Kobryn kicked things off for the Bulldogs, scoring his 11th goal of the season at the 1:11 mark of the first frame. Jordan Oshowy and Josh Hosking would be awarded assists on Kobryn's goal. Despite leading the Warriors 13-7 in the shots on goal category, the Bulldogs would head to the locker room deadlocked with Rochester 1-1.
An explosive second period would begin with JP Grineau feeding Dominic Moore for a highlight reel quality goal to put the Dawgs up 2-1. Grineau and Austin Azzinaro would grab assists on Moore's goal. Kobryn would send home his second of the night off of an assist from Joe Costello and and Archie McKinnon. Mike Finger would put the Dawgs up by three six minutes later with assists going to Kobryn and Oshowy. Michael Tratar would add to the lead at the 13:11 mark of the second, tipping a shot from the point from Hosking. Hosking and Cooper McLean would grab assists. Finger would net his second of the game before the period's end with another goal tipped off a shot from the point from Hosking. Hosking and Azzinaro would both tally assists. After two, the Dawgs would be up 6-1.
Kobryn would record his first hat trick of the season 1:56 into the third and final frame of the game with Mike Finger being awarded the lone assist. Matt Matyi's first collegiate goal would make it 8-1 at the 8:53 mark of the third period. Kobryn would snipe his fourth of the game 3 minutes later with Costello and Finger grabbing the assists once again. Austin Kuhn would go top shelf and pop the water bottle to make the score 10-1 at the 13:34 mark of the third period. Oshowy and Mark Fratarcangeli would snag the assists. Justin Fisher would send one home at the 15:22 mark to make the score 11-1 and put the Bulldogs up by 10 goals with assists going to Rainer Glimpel and Hosking. An unassisted goal from Kyle Perkowski would close things out and make it a dozen goals scored for the home team.
Final score at Arrington Ice Arena Thursday night would be 12-1 in favor of the hometeam as the Bulldogs extend their winning streak to 11-0 to start the 2017-18 campaign. Austyn Roudebush would pick up his 7th win in his 7th start of the season. The two teams will face off once again tonight (Friday) as the Bulldogs travel to Suburban Ice Macomb to take on the Warriors once again.
