For the Love of the Game Player Profile: Archie McKinnon
Since the offseason is now well underway and league awards and All American accolades are all handed out, I'll be featuring players from the six, soon to be seven, hockey teams. The first offseason player profile is with MD1 captain Archie McKinnon.

How long have you played hockey? My whole life
What made you want to play hockey? That's what everyone does in my town
Where did you play before Adrian? Beaver Valley Nitehawks in the KIJHL and the Trail Smoke Eaters in BCHL
Favorite hockey memory: Winning the western nationals in my last year of juniors
Favorite hockey player: Any Leafs player
Why did you choose Adrian? Great school and hockey program
Favorite college hockey memory so far: Going to the Frozen Four of nationals last year
Any superstitions or game day routines you always follow?: Put left side of gear on first. Play sewer ball before each game. Have a coffee before each game
To quote Miracle, "Why'd ya wanna play college hockey?" (Other than for the girls of course): For the girls and to win a National Championship.
On what it means to be named captain right before his senior season: "For me it's an honor to be named captain for the upcoming season. I know we have a great group of leaders throughout the team who are ready to give it their all once again for the upcoming season. With experience gained from last year we are ready to work harder in order to make history for the program."
Archie and the MD1 team will be back in action for try out camp the last week of August, look for the 2017-18 schedule to come out soon!
