Barrett and Kobryn Named First Team All American

The ACHA MD1 team had two players on the First Team All American this season, where they made it to the ACHA MD1 National Semifinal game for the first time in the ten year program history.

Junior forward Brad Kobryn was named First Team All American. Kobryn was second on the team in goals and points this season with 35 goals and 25 assists for 60 points in 33 games played. Kobryn was also named the ACHA MD1 Player of the Year for the second time in his career, only the second player to be given the honor twice in his career. This is also Kobryn's third First Team All American nod, the most for any single Adrian College hockey player.

Freshman goaltender Mike Barrett was also named to the First Team All American as well as the All Rookie Team. Barrett lead the league in every statistic there is this season and was the only goaltender in the ACHA to play over 10 games and stay undefeated in the regular season. Barrett posted a 19-2 record in his rookie year. Barrett is only the fourth MD1 freshman to be named All American (Ryan Bachman, Senate Patton and Brad Kobryn) and the second to be named First Team in their rookie season (Brad Kobryn).

Freshman forward Marcus Rose was named to the All Rookie Team as well. Rose lead the team in points and goals this season, racking up 36 goals and 28 assists for 64 points in 35 games played. Rose was also named the ACHA MD1 Rookie of the Year. Rose is the third MD1 player to be named ACHA Rookie of the Year (Senate Patton and Brad Kobryn).

Stay tuned here to here when the 2017-18 schedule for the MD1 team and the other 6 teams schedules are released later this summer.
