Four Unanswered Goals Lead MD1 To Second Thumping of Davenport
The Men’s ACHA D1 team hosted the Davenport Panthers for the second time on home ice this season in their traditional Tuesday before Thanksgiving game at Arrington Ice Arena.
The Panthers struck first at the 6:11 mark of the first period while the Bulldogs were on the penalty kill. The Bulldogs, however, would even things up when Brad Kobryn tipped in a shot from Kyle Boerner 11 seconds later. The two teams would head to the locker room all tied up after twenty.
The Bulldogs would score their second unaswered goal at the 11:16 mark off of a beautiful shot from the point from defenseman Josh Hosking. CJ Nicholson would snag the lone assist on Hosking’s goal. Justin Fisher would add one more at the 16:29 mark of the second on the powerplay to give the Bulldogs a more comfortable two goal lead. Marcel Kottek and Rainer Glimpel would be awarded assists.
The Bulldogs would grab a short handed goal in the third after being called for roughing at the 14:15 mark of the third. Ted Anstett would snag the puck after the goaltender dove for the puck at the top of the circles but be dragged down by the defenseman before passing to Mark Fratarcangeli who would eventually send it into the empty net for the Bulldogs’ fourth goal of the night. The final buzzer would sound and the Bulldogs would take game 3 of the series with Davenport by a score of 4-1.
The Bulldogs are back in action at Arrington Ice Arena on Thursday, December 1st when they face off against Oakland University at 7:00 pm.
