The Kids Are Alright: Freshmen Lead Men's D1 Past Davenport

It was rivalry night at Arrington Ice Arena on Thursday, November 10th as the Men’s ACHA D1 team took on their GLCHL foe the Davenport University Panthers.
The Bulldogs came out strong and fast, crashing the net and getting all over rebounds the entire game. Freshman Marcus Rose would capitalize on one of those gritty plays at the 14:54 mark of the first period on an unassisted effort. Junior Brad Kobryn would grab his fourteenth of the season less than four minutes later to give the Bulldogs a 2-0 lead going into the first intermission.
The Panthers would spoil Michael Barrett’s hopes of a shutout at the 1:27 mark of the first period, however, the Bulldogs would bounce back and maintain defensive control for the rest of the contest. Freshman Dominic Moore would grab his third of the season at the 11:01 mark of the second on a Bulldog powerplay, grabbing a rebound of his own to put the Bulldogs up by two once again. Classmate Mark Fratarcangeli would steal the puck in the neutral zone and absolutely undress the Davenport goaltender to grab his own unassisted goal at the 16:00 mark to put the Bulldogs up 4-1. After two, the Bulldogs would hold onto that 4-1 lead for another twenty minutes until senior Justin Polishcuk would send home an empty net goal to seal the deal for the home team in front of a packed house at Arrington Ice Arena. Final score was 5-1 Bulldogs.
The Bulldogs travel to Macomb Friday night to face the Rochester College Warriors and will return to Arrington Ice Arena on Saturday, November 12th to face the Warriors on home ice. Puck drop is 7:00 pm.

Marcus Rose-Rainer Glimpel-Dominic Moore: The all-freshman line of Rose, Glimpel and Moore is tearing things up the past few weeks they have played together. Their speed, talent, grit and undeniable chemistry shone through Thursday night as the line accounted for two goals and multiple scoring chances at both even strength and on the man advantage.
