Leone, Dunn Named All American
The NCAA announced the Men’s All American East and West first and second teams Thursday night in Lake Placid. The Bulldogs had two defensemen, Chris Leone and Cory Dunn, named All American.
Senior assistant captain Chris Leone was named to his first All American team this season and was named to the first team all west. Leone was second among Bulldog blueliners with 27 points (11 goals and 16 assists), doubling his career best goals in a season. Leone also led the Bulldogs in powerplay goals with 7 on the man advantage and was 9th on the team in scoring. Leone was also named to the D3Hockey.com Team of the Week five times in the 2015-16 season and to the NCHA All Conference team. Leone played in 109 games in four years as a Bulldog and tallied 24 goals and 47 assists for a total of 107 career points in 109 career games.
Freshman Cory Dunn was sixth in scoring for the Bulldogs and was the highest scoring defenseman for the Bulldogs and the highest scoring defenseman in the NCAA DIII with 6 goals and 25 assists for 31 points his freshman year. Dunn was also named to the NCHA All Conference team and the D3Hockey.com Team of the Week three times this season along with the Second Team All American West.
