Lewicki, Smith Named First Team All American
The NCAA announced their All American selections Thursday night and Adrian’s Kristin Lewicki and Sydney Smith were both named to the First Team All American West.
Junior Kristin Lewicki led the Bulldogs this season and the previous season and points and reached a career high of 48 points this season, amassing 32 goals and 17 assists. Lewicki currently has 112 points and is only 10 points away from breaking former teammate Kelsey Kusch’s program record of 122 career points. Lewicki netted 7 game winning goals, 11 powerplay goals, 2 shorthanded goals and 3 hat tricks this season. This is Lewicki’s first All American honor
Defenseman Sydney Smith is also a junior with her first All American nod this season. Smith led Adrian defensemen with 31 points, 8 goals and 23 assists, this season, which included 5 powerplay goals, and 1 game winning goal. Smith also led the Bulldogs with a +37 plus/minus rating.
Both Smith and Lewicki were standouts for the Bulldogs this season and played key roles in their success this season when the Bulldogs posted their best record in program history with a 25-3-1 record and their first ever SLAATS Cup title and second ever league title in program history.
