Armour Receives Trio of Honors as NCHA Announces Men's All-Conference Teams


The Northern Collegiate Hockey Association revealed their All-Conference and All-Freshmen teams on February 23rd and six Bulldogs all received honors.

Four Bulldogs were named to the twelve man All-Conference team. Freshman forward Connor Armour, sophomore forward Mat Thompson, freshman defenseman Cory Dunn, and senior defenseman Chris Leone were all named to the All-Conference teams.

Armour lead the NCAA DIII in assists and the Bulldogs in points this season, tallying 7 goals and 30 assists for 37 points in 24 games played. Armour was also named to the All-Freshman team as well as the NCHA Freshman of the Year. This year marks the second consecutive year that the Bulldogs have had a rookie named NCHA Freshman of the Year.

Assistant Captain Mat Thompson came in a close second to Armour in points and was first on the team in goals with 16 goals and 20 assists for 36 points in his sophomore season.

Dunn may have been the biggest story for the Bulldogs this season. Dunn tallied 6 goals and 20 assists for the Bulldogs in his rookie season, including 3 game winning goals. Dunn has also been named to the D3Hockey.com National Team of the Week three times this season. Dunn was also named to the All-Freshman team.

Leone leads the Bulldogs with 6 powerplay goals and 5 game winning goals this season, Leone has racked up 10 goals and 13 assists for 23 points in his final season with the Bulldogs. Leone recently played in his 100th game with the Bulldogs.

Along with Armour and Dunn, freshmen Bryan Yim and Kevin Entmaa were also named to the NCHA All-Freshmen team for the Bulldogs.

Yim recently broke the single game scoring record, scoring four goals against Concordia University on February 12th. Yim finished the regular season with 12 goals and 20 assists, third on the team in points.

Goaltender Kevin Entmaa made Bulldog history this season after going 12-0 this season and becoming the only Bulldog goalie to post a perfect regular season record in the program’s nine year history. Entmaa finished the regular season with a .923 SV% and a 2.16 GAA.

The Bulldogs look to capture their 7th Harris Cup in 9 years this season, beginning with the semi-final series this Friday at 7:05pm and Saturday at 3:05 pm when they face off against the Saints of the College of St. Scholastica.
