Men's D1 Falls to Wolverines
In a chippy penalty ridden game, the ACHA D1 team took on the University of Michigan Dearborn Wolverines on January 16th at Arrington Ice Arena.
No goals were scored in the first period of play, however, there were three penalties assessed, one to the Bulldogs and two to the Wolverines. The score was deadlocked at 0 after one and shots were an even 6-6.
Brad Kobryn would score on the powerplay to give the Bulldogs a 1-0 advantage 8:31 into the second period. Kobryn’s powerplay goal was assisted by Ted Anstett and Andre Rakas. After two, the score would be 1-0 in favor of the Bulldogs.
The Wolverines would tie the game 2:33 into the third period then score once again with 2:30 remaining to beat the Bulldogs 2-1. In a show of sportsmanship afterwards, two of the Wolverines players decided to show how classy they truly are by flipping me off while banging on the glass, stay classy guys!
The Bulldogs are back in action at Arrington Ice Arena on Saturday, January 23rd at 7pm when they face the Kent State Golden Flashes. The Bulldogs travel to Kent State on Friday the 22nd to play on the road.
