My first installment of my weekly #ItsMoreThanJustClubHockey Player Profile!
Our first featured player is Jack Clary, #6 on the DIII Gold Team.
Team: ACHA D3 Gold
Number: 6
Position: Center
Righty or Lefty: Lefty
How long have you played hockey? 16 years
What made you want to play hockey? It just seemed like the right thing to do and I was pretty good at the start.
What is the highest level of hockey you’ve played (before college)? High School
Favorite hockey memory? I don't have a favorite hockey memory
Favorite hockey player? Patrice Bergeron [Boston Bruins forward]
Where did you play before coming to Adrian? Grand Blanc High School [Michigan]
Why did you choose Adrian? I was recruited here.
Favorite memory of college hockey so far? Being with the boys.
Any superstitions or things you do for luck (ie: putting right side of gear on first, writing quotes, verses,
etc. on your stick, taping your stick a certain color...)? I put my mom and grandma's intials on my stick.
To quote Jack O’Callahan in Miracle, “Why’d yah wanna play college hockey?” (bonus points if you say “isn’t it obvious? for the girls!”): And definitely isn't it obvious.. for the girls.
Clary was second in points and tied for first in goals last season on the Gold team, compiling 18 goals and 13 assists in his rookie season. So far this season, Clary is second in points with 5 goals and 13 assists for 18 points in 11 games. Clary and the Gold team will be back in action at Arrington Ice Arena on Saturday, November 14th at 3pm when they face the Lawrence Tech Blue Devils where Clary looks to extend his poinstreak to 5 games.
