Men's DI Falls to Western Michigan
The Men’s ACHA DI team hosted the Stallions of Western Michigan University on Friday, October 16th.
Despite peppering the Stallions goaltender with 40 shots on goal, the Bulldogs were held scoreless throughout all three periods, which resulted in their first loss to the Stallions in program history and the first loss for the DI squad on home ice since the 2013-14 season. The Bulldogs will be out for vengeance on Saturday night when they travel to Kalamazoo to take on the Stallions once again.
The DI squad is now 4-1 to start the season. Sophomore standout Brad Kobryn is once again leading the team in points with 7 goals in five games. Freshman Tyler Duarte comes in second with 3 goals and 4 assists in five games. Senior captain Bobby Bodette is tied for third with 1 goal and 3 assists with sophomore Justin Fisher, who has compiled 4 assists in 5 games. Sophomore Benaglio rounds out the top five with 2 goals and 1 assist in 5 games. The Bulldogs will be back at Arrington Ice Arena on Friday, October 23rd at 8pm when they face Rochester College.
