Adrian Women's ACHA Drops Exhibition Game to Southwest Wildcats

The Adrian College Women’s ACHA D1 squad was the first Adrian team to take the ice this past Saturday, September 12th, when they faced off against the Southwest Wildcats of the Canadian Intermediate AA Provincial Women’s Hockey League.
The first period saw four penalties, one to the Wildcats and three to the Bulldogs. Neither team, however, capitalized on their power play opportunities in the first. The only goal of the period came with 1:37 left in the period when the Wildcats snuck one past senior goaltender Ellyn Stanton. After the first, the score was 1-0 in favor of the Wildcats.
The second period saw three goals, two by the Wildcats and one by the Bulldogs. The only two penalties were called against the Wildcats, giving the Bulldogs two power play opportunities in the second period of play. The Bulldogs capitalized on their third power play of the night, scoring thirty seconds into a Wildcats interference penalty. Freshman Kaillie Hardy put one past the goaltender with 9:29 left in the second period, junior Alicia Tait and junior Jackie Lough assisted on Hardy’s goal.
The score after two would also be the final score, 3-1 in favor of the visitors. The Women’s ACHA team will be back in action on Sunday, September 13th, when they face Victory Honda in their second exhibition game.
