Junior Brad Kobryn Breaks Adrian College Scoring Record

Junior Brad Kobryn scored his 103rd career goal this Sunday, November 6th, 2016 against the Mercyhurst Lakers.

Kobryn tied the record of 102 goals at the 4:46 mark of the second period on an unassisted effort. At the 9:58 mark, former Men’s NCAA standout Shawn Skelly’s record would be no more as Kobryn grabbed his 12th goal of the season and 103rd career goal in his 79th career game. He would also add one more goal in the third to complete the hat trick and notch 150 career points.

With the record breaking goal, Kobryn becomes the highest scoring player in the ten year program history for any team at Adrian College.

Not only is Kobryn the highest scoring player in Adrian Hockey history, he also holds multiple records already.

His first season he set a record for goals in a single season by any Adrian College player after he scored 55 goals in his rookie campaign. He also tied the record for points in a single season for any team with 77 that season and broke the Adrian ACHA record for points in a season. His sophomore season record of 36 tallies is second all time for the Men’s ACHA D1 team. Kobryn is also the all time leader for points per game for the Men’s ACHA D1 team with an average of 1.89 points per game in 79 career games.

"Brad is a special player on the ice and an even better role model off the ice as well," said head coach Gary Astalos, "We are very lucky to have him on our team and I look forward to the rest of the season."

With 150 career points, Kobryn is 46 points away from tying the all time Adrian ACHA record for points that is held by Spencer Bonomo ‘13 and 79 points away from tying the all-time Adrian Hockey record for points by Shawn Skelly ‘11.
